Biography

Dr. Thomas Varghese is a Specialist Endodontist and General Dentist, as well as a pioneering CEREC Specialist, with an extraordinary track record spanning over 20 years in endodontics. He completed his Bachelor’s (BDS) and Master’s (MDS) degrees in Endodontics from the prestigious MAHE University in 1998, after which he began his practice in Dubai. He was the first dentist in the MENA region to incorporate the renowned CEREC CAD/CAM system into clinical practice. He was also among the earliest adopters of rotary endodontics and laser dentistry.

As a Specialist Endodontist, Dr. Thomas is a strong advocate and practitioner of painless dentistry. He deeply understands the fears and apprehensions patients often experience during procedures such as root canal treatments and extractions. By employing advanced painless anesthetic techniques, he has mastered the art of consistently delivering a comfortable and pain-free clinical experience for his patients.

His state-of-the-art CEREC CAD/CAM system enables the milling of high-quality ceramic restorations—including crowns, veneers, and bridges—within a single appointment. The primary advantage of the CEREC system lies in its precision and speed, utilizing computer-aided design and manufacturing to create restorations without the need for messy impressions. In addition to his expertise in CEREC technology, Dr. Thomas also utilizes laser technology to perform painless soft tissue procedures such as gingivoplasty and operculectomy. Laser-assisted dentistry allows these procedures to be carried out in a bloodless field, promoting faster healing and recovery.

Dr. Thomas also offers routine dental check-ups and comprehensive treatment for a wide range of dental conditions, including cavities, gum diseases, and alignment issues.

A revolutionary figure in dentistry in the Middle East, Dr. Thomas has played a pivotal role in popularizing the CEREC system across the region. He was instrumental in establishing the Dental Department at Belhoul Speciality Hospital, Dubai, where he successfully led the department for over 20 years.
