Biography

Dr. Rohit Kumar is the Medical Director of International Modern Hospital and one of our most dynamic and experienced General Surgeons at IMH. He is fluent in both Indian languages and Russian, enabling him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

He has gathered his diverse skill set from various parts of the world, including India and Kazakhstan, where he completed his primary medical education, as well as France, Japan, and Greece, where he underwent specialized surgical training.

Dr. Rohit obtained his MD from Kazakh State Medical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan, in the year 2000. He then completed his MS in General Surgery from the Army Hospital and Research Centre, New Delhi, India, in 2003.

He has completed numerous fellowships and certifications in advanced general surgical procedures. These include a Fellowship in Minimal Access & Bariatric Surgery (FMABS) in 2008 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, India; a Fellowship with the International Association of Surgical Gastroenterology & Oncology (FIASGO), Greece, in 2010; and a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery (FHBS) in 2011 from Chiba Medical University, Tokyo, Japan. These fellowships have provided him with extensive expertise and advanced knowledge in general surgery.

In addition, Dr. Rohit completed a Diploma in Interventional Endoscopy from the European Institute of Telesurgery, Strasbourg, France, and a Laser Surgery Course from Sharjah University, UAE, in 2016.

With over 20 years of clinical experience across premium healthcare facilities in India and the UAE, Dr. Rohit has worked with renowned institutions such as Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, and Artemis Hospital, Gurugram, India. He is highly accustomed to managing large workloads and busy surgical schedules while consistently maintaining the highest standards of patient care. He has also served as the Head of the Department of General Surgery in major hospitals across the UAE.

Among the wide range of surgical procedures he performs, bariatric surgeries and hernia repairs are his key areas of expertise. He has undergone super-specialty training in minimal access surgery, which is applied in the treatment of hernias, hemorrhoids, tumors, cysts, fistulas, bladder stones, and appendicitis, among others. Dr. Rohit also specializes in laser-assisted surgical procedures for the treatment of hernias, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and spider veins. Laser procedures offer safer outcomes, reduced pain, minimal scarring, and faster recovery for patients.

Laparoscopic procedures across various surgical disciplines are another area of his mastery and form a core part of his minimally invasive approach.
